European Development Days: The "Off"
Young People’s Participation in Local Governance
Youth Forum and Public Debate
Saturday 15 November 10:00/13:00 - Oberlin Room

The right for children to participate in decisions which affect them is enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and increasingly children and youth are demanding that their voices be heard in their communities.
Young people from West Africa and Europe will meet for a Youth Forum entitled “Let your voice be heard: a forum by and for youth in local governance”. This exchange will be followed by a public debate with professionals and politicians. One of the young people will also be part of the panel for the official EDD round-table “Citizens as partners: strengthen the appropriation of local governance” on Monday 17 November. and will bring these messages of the Forum to the round-table.
All youth participants of EDD are welcome to join the whole Forum, and interested policy makers and practitioners are invited to the last hour.
Please register in advance with events@plan-international.org by Wednesday 12 November.
Access to the venue is available only for participants of the Development Days; please register at here.
